A simple yet affective way of saving your link juice is to “NO FOLLOW” your affiliate links and any non essential links.
Basically each time you link to an external site you are giving away some of your sites PR (page rank) as you are voting for that site by giving them a link.
If you spend a lot of time link building for your website or affiliate sites, you don’t want all your hard work to be for nothing, so here is what you need to do to ensure you are not giving away more that just a link.
An example hosting affiliate link
<a href=”http://secure.hostgator.com/cgi-bin/affiliates/clickthru.cgi?id=hostingosc” target=”_blank”>Hosting</a>
An example of the same link but with NO FOLLOW
<a href=”http://secure.hostgator.com/cgi-bin/affiliates/clickthru.cgi?id=hostingosc” rel=”nofollow” target=”_blank”>Hosting</a>
When using the no follow tag rel=”nofollow” visitors will still go to the site and you will make your commission, however google will not count the link as an outbound link thus saving you sites precious pagerank.
Thats smart link thinking!

OK, so you have a site and your finally getting visitors to your site, now how do you make money from your visitors? you could sell them a product of your own, you could promote an affiliate product, but most people start with AdSense ads.
AdSense is easy to set up and if your getting traffic to your site then that should convert nicely into a bit of extra pocket money for you.
If your site is in a common niche you may only get a couple of cents per click, but with enough traffic even the poorest of niches can still make you a few extra $’s a day.
So what if you are getting traffic but not getting any clicks throughs?
Well this was my case with my Dream Interpretation site. i was getting hundreds of visitors a day, about two thousand page views a day and making less than $1 a day
I decided to create a new template for the site more geared up for displaying AdSense ads, I now have a text ad unit near the top and 2 large vertical columns one for a banner and one for text ads.
So far this is working much better and i am now getting around 5x the revenue each day.
It seemed like a lot of work at first but its worth it long term, if you have a wordpress blog its a lot easier you can just upload a new theme, if you are running a 2.3.x wordpress blog and above i recommend having a look at this site as the have links to all compatible 2.3.x themes that are free.
Good luck and happy earning

Creating a sitemap of your blog and submitting it to Google and other SE’s is the first fundamental step to getting your site indexed and getting potential visitors to your blog.
To create a sitemap first you need to download a wordpress plugin. you can get it from the creators site Here
Once you have downloaded it, unzip and upload to your plugins directory. using FTP got to you root directory then its /wp-content/plugins/
Once uploaded activate it in the wordpress admin / plugins section
Then configure it in wordpress admin / options / XML-Sitemaps
You may also need to upload 2 additional files sitemap.xml and sitemap.xml.gz to the root directory of you wordpess install, you can create them on your desktop as blank files then upload them and CHMOD 777 so the pluging can write to them.
Once you have run the plugin the fist time it will automatically ping Google and other SE’s to notify them of your new sitemap, in the future new posts should automatically get rebuilt into the sitemap.
It is also good to let Google know the location of your sitemap in your google webmaster account, but i will cover that in more detail in the future.

Updating your ping list could be a good way for you to get more traffic to your blog and more backlinks for free.
When you write a new blog post and publish it, wordpress automatically pings http://rpc.pingomatic.com/
thus notifying it of a new blog post. If you update your ping list to include the following services. more sites and people will be aware of your new blog post and now you potentially have a better chance of getting more people to visit your blog
http://rpc.pingomatic.com
http://ping.bitacoras.com
http://bulkfeeds.net/rpc
http://blogsearch.google.com/ping/RPC2
http://www.blogpeople.net/servlet/weblogUpdates
http://ping.myblog.jp
http://bblog.com/ping.php
http://ping.bloggers.jp/rpc/
To update the list go to your wordpress admin section and then go to options / writing
you will see update services at the bottom of the page, copy and paste the above list there.
